Chris Columbus’ upcoming crime comedy The Thursday Murder Club has added several actors to its ensemble cast. Per Deadline, David Tennant (Good Omens), Jonathan Pryce (The Crown), Naomi Ackie (Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody), Daniel Mays (Franklin) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eve) will star in the film.
The Thursday Murder Club already features Helen Mirren (1923), Pierce Brosnan (Black Adam), Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) and Celia Imrie (Good Grief). It is based on the novel by Richard Osman.
The story follows “a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught in a real case. The four members of the club will be played by Mirren (ex-spy Elizabeth), Kingsley (ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim) Brosnan (former union activist Ron) and Imrie (ex-nurse Joyce).”
Columbus and Jennifer Todd are producing with Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus and Jo Burn executive producing. Netflix and Amblin Entertainment are producing overall.
The Thursday Murder Club will begin production this month.
