The Tick creator Ben Edlund has taken to Twitter to announce that Amazon has opted against a renewal for The Tick, cancelling the latest incarnation of the superhero comedy character after two seasons on the streaming service.
“I’m sorry to say Amazon has chosen not to proceed with The Tick,” wrote Edlund. “I’m not sorry to say I love this show, its cast, its story, and its message. Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series. Meanwhile thank you from my heart’s bottom to all the fans who’ve shared their love with us and the show. Thank you sweet #LunaTicks and #LunaTickArmy for your militant affection. We want to find a place to make more. That is the mission now and we are on it.”
Meanwhile, actor Griffin Newman echoed Edlund’s comments about searching for a new home, revealing that the cast all remain under contract and urging fans to help #SaveTheTick by showing their support for the series on social media.
