Anghus Houvouras with this week’s disappointments from the entertainment world…
“Daniel Craig says he’d only do another Bond for the money”
Does that mean you did Quantum of Solace for the artistic integrity? I love how cocky the star of Cowboys and Aliens gets when discussing another Bond film. As if 007 has prevented him from starring in tiny independent dramas for scale we never see him in. Speaking of obscene amounts of money…
“Avengers: Infinity War rumored at $1 billion budget”
This is great news, because I know how worried we all were that Marvel was going to slash budgets and turn all their superhero properties into character focused independent films. I’d been panicked for weeks that Infinity War was going to be handed over to Shane Caruth or the Duplass Brothers. Who am I kidding? Marvel movies will never be that interesting.
The good news: at this budget level, you can get Daniel Craig on board.
“Simon Kinberg on Fantastic Four: “I’m obviously disappointed with the way it turned out”
I’m glad someone was finally brave enough to take the unpopular position that Fantastic Four wasn’t all that good. Simon Kinberg would also like you to know that he’s really upset with that Dentist that shot Cecil the Lion and isn’t happy about Putin invading Crimea.
“Rumour: Marvel Studios scrapping Inhumans movie”
Noooooooooooooo. That’s going to make fans of the comic upset. All four of them.
“F. Gary Gray directing Fast & Furious 8”
Apparently Sir Ridley Scott has been inconsolable after learning he’d lost the gig.
See you next week.
