…And moving over now to Star Wars: Episode VIII and it had been rumoured that Benicio Del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy) was set to play the villain in the movie, which has now officially been confirmed…
…Now we officially have a villain, the shortlist for a female lead in the movie (which was previously rumoured) has been released which includes Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel)…
…We also have a new poster for Star Wars Rebels Season Two as well as a full synopsis for the upcoming series: In “Star Wars Rebels” Season Two, past lives will be revealed and the destiny of our heroes will be changed forever. The transformative new season resumes with Imperial oppression on Lothal growing stronger and the rebels seeking out new allies and additional resources to sustain their fight against the evil Empire. With the help of Ahsoka Tano, the crew of the Ghost enlists some old friends: ex-clone troopers who fought in the Clone Wars. As the rebels grow in number, so do their enemies. New Inquisitors are dispatched by Darth Vader and sent to crush any threat of rebellion. …Stepping aside from live action and animation to the video game world and EA announced this week that a BETA version of Star Wars Battlefront will be released in early October before the game is officially released in November. The BETA is “a technical test and will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire. Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker…”

…We have a couple of comic book previews for you; first up is Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Shattered Empire #1: “For the first time in the new Star Wars canon, journey with us into the time after the end of Return of the Jedi! Writer Greg Rucka (PUNISHER, WOLVERINE, Gotham Central) and artist Marco Checchetto (AVENGERS WORLD, PUNISHER) take us past the destruction of the second Death Star into the chaos of a Shattered Empire.” And Star Wars: Darth Vader #9: “Vader has a new mission to do for the Empire. Unfortunately, it’s completely at odds with his own mission. What’s a Dark Lord to do?”
…And lastly, Marvel has also announced the release of the one-shot comic Star Wars: C-3PO this December, which will take place after Return of the Jedi and explain why Threepio has a red arm in The Force Awakens.
