Two pieces of news have arrived this weekend from THE64 camp, though from this point on we shan’t be calling it THE64 anymore. This retrogaming device – which is coming in three different forms – that is bringing back Commodore 64 gaming goodness, has changed its name ever so slightly and you’ll probably agree it reads a whole lot better.
What was once THE64 is now called THEC64. Clearly, this new moniker truly makes you think of the classic 8-bit machine that sat in your bedroom many moons back, and possibly still does. Before it was like a new Sinclair Spectrum without the ZX, though I know uttering those words can be quite blasphemous when said around a Commodore 64.
The next piece of news to arrive is that THEC64 music has been especially composed by C64 music legend Matt Gray. If you’d like to listen to three tracks in full “Loader & Menu Music (SID & Original)” then you can do so -for free – over at Apple iTunes and Spotify right now.
More audio is expected to follow – as mentioned in the update – on future video promotions and within THEC64 itself.
The indiegogo update wraps up by letting us know that we should expect:- a production timeline, game updates and more exciting news next week. With the closing date of the Hall of Fame being the 29th September, I’m guessing we’re going to see a lot of news appearing over the next few weeks.
As ever to keep up-to-date with THEC64 follow them on their website, Like them on Facebook, Follow them on Twitter and watch their campaign on Indiegogo.
