NBC has renewed its hit drama series This Is Us for a further three seasons of 18 episode apiece, taking it though to season six. It’s rare for a network to order three seasons at once, the last instance being in 2014 when CBS granted a three-season renewal to The Big Bang Theory.
Three years ago, we were live tweeting the premiere of our TV show, hoping someone, anyone might watch…
Today our friends at @nbc picked up #ThisIsUs for THREE more seasons, bringing us to six. pic.twitter.com/0osA6XBUYc

It’s also due to our impassioned, dedicated fans. Some days you guys hate Miguel, some days you guys love Miguel, but we ALWAYS love you.
Except for Miguel, who takes it day by day.
Congratulations to all involved. We can’t wait to get back to work. #ThisIsUs

“In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of This Is Us, and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment (via Deadline). “A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling.”
This Is Us has proven to be a huge success for NBC, with its most recent third season averaging almost 14 million total viewers per episode, and it looks likely to end the season as the No.1 broadcast drama in the key 18-49 demo for the third consecutive year.
Created by Dan Fogelman, This Is Us features an ensemble cast that includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, Jon Huertas, Niles Fitch, Logan Shroyer, Hannah Zeile, Mackenzie Hancsicsak, Parker Bates, Lonnie Chavis, Eris Baker, and Faithe Herman.
