Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi on whether we’ll see more of Darryl Jacobson

September 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

A few weeks ago we were introduced to Darryl Jacobson, roommate to Thor Odinson, when Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok Comic-Con mockumentary made its way online [watch it here]. Since then, there’s been a lot of demand for more Darryl, and IGN caught up with the director to ask whether we’ll be seeing him again.

“Thor briefly rented a room in a flat in Australia after the Ultron debacle. Just to get some downtime – to get away from The Avengers, to get away from America. So he had a little downtime in Australian. And he met this guy Darryl and they shared a flat together. So that’s Darryl. I think you probably could see him again. There may be other little pieces of that thing that everyone saw that may just be a small part of a bigger thing.”

So, could we be getting an extended version of the mockumentary? A Thor: Ragnarok cameo? A feature length Thor and Darryl buddy movie? An Avengers: Infinity War appearance? A Phase Four Darryl solo outing? Who knows…

Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and features Marvel veterans Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk alongside Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Karl Urban as Skurge. It is set for release on November 3rd, 2017.
