Yesterday it was announced that Bond 25 has been set for the release in November 2019, and now Deadline is reporting that Eon Productions has identified three potential directors for the next instalment of the long-running spy series.
According to the site, press speculation about Christopher Nolan (Dunkirk) and Edgar Wright (Baby Driver) are wide of the mark, and the three frontunners are actually Yann Demange (’71), Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049) and David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water). All three are said to have taken meetings, although Villenueve’s schedule may not fit, given that he is set to direct the Dune movie for Legendary.
Although there’s been no official word as to who is portraying Bond in the new film, it has been reported from several sources that Daniel Craig has already signed on to reprise the role of 007 for a fifth and presumably final time.
