Cinema loves movies that feature children. It is a more recent example but numerous films, from Hocus Pocus to The Monster Squad, speak to the pull of this tradition. Thrill Ride promises to be a great addition and is the debut feature of Mason’s Movies.
Mixing a treasure hunt set at an amusement park with a legend about a sea witch, Thrill Ride appeals to all ages and a trailer can be seen below…
Fifty percent of every dollar THRILL RIDE makes will go to The Mason Parrish Foundation – which is a 501(c)3 that funds pediatric brain tumor research and provides wheelchair accessible vans for families with children who are suffering from catastrophic illness. The other fifty percent will go toward financing the next family movie for charity so we can hopefully keep funding pediatric brain tumor research and support through independent filmmaking over and over again.
Directed by Chris Parrish, the film is dedicated to Parrish’s son, Mason, who created the story the film is based on. Lucas Zumann, John Babbo, and Tori Waite star as the three leads, and Kristen Johnston and Helen Sadler appear as the sea witch and mermaid, respectfully.
Thrill Ride will be available for pre-order starting October 20th. The film comes out on VOD and Blu-Ray December 12th. There will also be a limited theatrical release in Chicago from December 1st – 8th. For more information, check out the film’s web site here.
