After a long development and production, Tim Burton can rejoice that he’s finally done with Beetlejuice 2.
With the development of a sequel to the iconic 1988 film beginning soon after the original dropped, Burton has let this brew for some time, but once he landed the returning Michael Keaton and the new It-girl Jenna Ortega, it was full steam ahead.
Beetlejuice 2 began shooting in May but was shut down over the summer due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. With the strike wrapping up not too long ago, film crews and cast members quickly returned to the town of Melrose, Massachusetts, and wrapped up what little they had left to shoot.
Burton took to social media and shared the first look from on-set of the sequel. Check out the photo below…

Beetlejuice 2 sees the return of Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse, Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz, alongside newcomers Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Justin Theroux.
Beetlejuice 2 is set for release on September 6th, 2024.
