TOKYOPOP has announced that it is set to follow Zero’s Journey and Mirror Moon with a third instalment in their original The Nightmare Before Christmas comic book series, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Battle for Pumpkin King, launching in March 2023.
The five issue series is written by Dan Conner (Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey), with story by Shaun McLaughlin and D.J. Milky, and art from Deborah Allo and Roberto Scalia, and serves as a prequel to the classic 1993 stop motion animated film exploring the the friendship and inevitable rivalry between Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie.

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Battle for Pumpkin King #1 will go on sale in March 2023, and the full five-issue series will be collected as a graphic novel for release at Halloween 2023.
