Tim Minchin has become the latest addition to the cast of Lionsgate and Summit’s Robin Hood reimagining Robin Hood: Origins, with the Australian comedian signing on to play the character of Friar Tuck.
Robin Hood: Origins is being directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) and stars Kingsman’s Taron Egerton as the legendary English folk figure, who will be depicted as “a war-hardened Crusader and a Moorish commander who mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.”
Michin joins a cast that also includes Jamie Foxx as Little John, Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlett and Paul Anderson as a yet-to-be-revealed character.
