Variety is reporting that Fantastic Four and Ride Along director Tim Story is in talks to direct an adaptation of Don Freeman’s beloved children’s novel Corduroy for CBS Films.
Published in 1968, Corduroy has sold tens of millions of copies over the years, and tells the tale of a department store teddy bear who sets off on an adventure to find a missing button on his overalls so that he can find the home and the friend he’s always longed for.
Corduroy is listed on numerous ‘greatest children’s books’ polls, including the New York Public Library’s 100 Great Children’s Books From the Last 100 Years and the National Education Association’s Teachers’ Top 100 Books for Children.
