Timothée Chalamet is Marty Supreme, as it has been confirmed that the Dune actor will star and produce the new film from Josh Safdie and A24.
The original film is set to be a fictionalized story about professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman. Marty Supreme is written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, who produce alongside Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas.
A24 took to social media to confirm the news, which you can check out below. There’s no news on when it’s filming, but Chalamet recently wrapped filming on James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

Reisman was a charismatic table tennis player known for his flamboyant style and showmanship. He bridged the sport’s eras from its mid-20th century heyday to its modern resurgence, leaving a legacy as a cultural icon and ambassador for ping pong. With the title of “the wizard of table tennis,” he won 22 major ping pong titles from 1946 to 2002 and won five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships. Reisman died in 2012.
As yet, there’s no word on a potential release date.
