The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Tom Blyth has signed on to star alongside Sophie Wilde (Talk To Me) in New Regency’s long-planned adaptation of the hit Ubisoft video game Watch Dogs.
Released in 2014, Watch Dogs is a third person action-adventure game which sees players taking on the role of Aiden Pearce, a hacker in a fictionalised open-world version of Chicago. A critical and commercial success, the game spawned the sequels Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs: London as well as several novels and comics.

The film adaptation can be traced back to before the first game’s release a decade ago. However, it seems things are finally set to move forward, with French filmmaker Mathieu Turi (The Deep Dark) directing from a script by Christie LeBlanc and Victoria Bata, and Natalie Lehmann of New Regency and Margaret Boykin of Ubisoft Film & Television producing.
