Although Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is expected to be the main villain in next year’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, we also know that Michael Keaton’s Vulture will be making his return, and it seems we might also see a third villain in the form of Morris Bench, a.k.a. Hydro-Man.
The speculation about a Hydro-Man appearance stems from Tom Holland’s latest set video, which sees Holland’s Peter Parker stunt double being hit by a giant wave of water. So, that’s got to be a water-based villain, right? I mean, what else could cause a wave?!

If you’re unfamiliar with Hydro-Man, the character was created by Denny O’Neil and John Romita, Jr. back in 1981, and gained his powers when he was accidentally knocked into the ocean by Spider-Man after a battle against Namor. Unfortunately for Bench, an experimental generator was being tested in the ocean at that very moment, transforming him into a man of water with a grudge against the wall-crawler.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5th 2019 and features the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Michael Keaton (The Vulture), Zendaya (Michelle), Jacob Batalon (Ned), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), with Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) as Mysterio and J.B. Smoove (Uncle Drew), Remy Hii (Crazy Rich Asians) and Numan Acar (Homeland) in undisclosed roles.
