It looks like we might get to see another series of the classic 80s sitcom Blackadder, with Tony Robinson revealing to The Sun that a new series could be a possibility – assuming they can afford Hugh Laurie’s wages following his U.S. television success.
“I do think a new series of Blackadder is on the cards,” states Robinson, who portrayed Baldrick in all four series, along with the specials. I have spoken to virtually all the cast about this now. The only problem is Hugh’s fee. He’s a huge star now – or so he’d like to think. Expectations for a new series will be high because people not only remember the original, they remember who they were when it was on. It’s a big danger.”
Blackadder starred Rowan Atkinson as Edmund Blackadder and premiere in 1983. It ran for four seasons – each in a different historical setting – along with threee specials, the last of which came in 2000.
Would you like to see another series of Blackadder, or is it best left to the annals of history?
