Train to Busan director promises terrifying scares in trailer for Netflix’s Hellbound

September 2, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Train to Busan is a modern horror classic, with director Yeon Sang-ho tapping into the zombie genre like never before. The filmmaker is back and his latest project, Hellbound, looks to be even scarier.

Yeon Sang-ho is changing things up though, tackling Hellbound as a procedural drama series. Though don’t expect a normal K-Drama here as the first look trailer shows three demonic figures smashing through a shop window before pinning a man down and leaving him in ashes.

The Korean series will premiere at the forthcoming Toronto International Film Festival before making its way to Netflix. Be sure to follow Flickering Myth as we will be covering Hellbound and more from the TIFF. In the meantime, watch the trailer here…

Based on the Korean webtoon Hell, Hellbound tells a story of surviving under social chaos when a group of supernatural beings appear and condemn people to hell. A new religious group interprets them as the will of the divine.

Toronto International Film Festival begins September 9th.
