Screen Daily is reporting that Yeon Sang-ho, director of the acclaimed zombie thriller Train to Busan, will commence principal photography on his next film Psychokinesis this coming Monday, April 17th.
The new film is described as a black comedy and will star Ryu Seung-ryong and Shim Eun-kung, who both supplied voice work for Yeon’s Train to Busan animated prequel Seoul Station. Also featuring in the cast are Jung Yu-mi (Train to Busan), Park Jung-min (Dongju; The Portrait Of A Poet) and Kim Min-jae (The Shameless, Ode To My Father). Ryu plays an ordinary guy who suddenly finds he has superpowers he can use to help his spirited daughter (Shim) and the people around them, but also runs into trouble in the process.
“I’m honored to be working with these good actors and staff again. I’ll make a good film that lives up to everyone’s expectations,” said a confident Yeon.
