A couple of days ago a prequel video to Turbo Kid arrived online, which offered some insight into Apple’s adventures before she met The Kid in the 2015 action-adventure comedy [watch it here].
Well, now comes word from filmmakers Yoann-Karl Whissell, Anouk Whissell, and François Simard that a sequel to the movie is officially in the works, with Whissell telling Journal de Montreal that: “It will be a direct sequel to the first film, taking action where it ended.”
The 80s-inspired Turbo Kid takes place in a post-apocalyptic future version of 1997, and follows an orphaned outcast called The Kid (Munro Chambers) who befriends a mysterious girl Apple (Laurence Leboeuf). However, when Apple is kidnapped by the tyrannical overlord Zeus (Michael Ironside), The Kid must face his fears and traverse the Wasteland in order to free his friend.
