…With pre-production on HBO’s Watchmen pilot moving full steam ahead, Patrick Wilson – who played Dan Dreiberg / Nite Owl in Zack Snyder’s big screen adaptation – has spoken about whether he has any interest in appearing in the series: “It was such a joy shooting that movie, I wanted there to be more of them. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now! I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible, but I love Damon Lindelof. I’m so excited to see what they will do.” As yet, there’s been absolutely nothing in the way of details regarding the series, but Ricky Church has put together a feature looking at what we might expect from the TV adaptation of the seminal graphic novel; read his article here…

…With the film now in post-production, Stranger Things star David Harbour has been chatting about the Hellboy reboot, and the opportunity to reinvent the character: “It was very hard, in that way, but it’s also really thrilling ‘cause I get to carve out an entirely new mythos to this guy and I get to play on this big palette of witches and giants and demons. To me, it’s very Shakespearean. I grew up doing regional Shakespeare and when Hamlet sees the ghost of his father, there’s something about that that you don’t really do in film anymore. We rarely see an indie film where you have an emotional pathos where somebody sees a ghost. This is a palette where you can have demons and ghosts and big creatures and things that are epic, in that way. That was super fun!” You can read the rest of Harbour’s comments about the gruelling makeup process here…
…Another comic book movie reboot is gearing up to go into production this year in Spawn, and creator and director Todd McFarlane has been chatting about how the title character will communicate in the film, as well as speaking about its hard R-rated tone: “It’s funny in Hollywood, if you say you want to do an R-rated movie, they go like ‘Oh like Deadpooland like Logan?’ For me, no. Deadpool, to me, was a PG-13 action movie. It just had some naked butts and a couple f-bombs. Other than that, I thought it was the same PG-13 formula. I’m talking R, I’m talking that there will not be a lot of fun, there will not be be any stupid lines in it… I never like my hero to make a joke right when the jeopardy was at its highest. So if I felt that my hero wasn’t afraid right now, why should I be?… I want my heroes to go ‘Shit, what do I do now..?'”
