…Following his show stealing turn in Daredevil, Jon Bernthal has offered up a few words about his hopes for the future of The Punisher: “For me, it’s not a question of what they want to do with a character, it’s more, how are they going to do it, and who’s going to be the ones to do it. This character is in my bones now, he’s in my blood. If they want to go forward in any way, for me it’s just really going to be about making sure we do it in a way that’s raw and intense. I want to push the envelope. I wanna alienate more of the audience and try to bring them back.” As yet, we don’t know where we’ll next see Frank Castle, but Samuel Brace has posted an article looking at four possible ways that Marvel could move forward with the character; take a look here…

…One spinoff that does look like it’s moving ahead is Josh Boone’s adaptation of New Mutants, and producer Simon Kinberg has been talking about the project this week: “Traditionally, the New Mutants have some characters that cross over from the mainline X-Men movies. As we are going, I would say it’s likely that you will see some familiar faces. Josh Boone and his writing partner are working on the script. They’re doing a really nice job of it, and it’s a really cool one, because in many ways, like Deadpool was so different from the mainline X-Men movies, New Mutants… It’s maybe not as different as Deadpool, but it has its own unique, original voice to it. That’s the fun for me, working in the X-Men universe, creating these sort of standalone movies that have a different vibe to them. And New Mutants has more of a YA [Young Adult] vibe to it.”
… This week also brought a rumour that Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) had been cast as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane and Illyana Rasputin/Magik in the cast of New Mutants, where they’d join Alexandra Shipp (Storm) and James McAvoy (Professor X).
