…Hugh Jackman also shared a few thoughts on the eventual recasting of Wolverine [read his comments here], while he also shared his two major regrets from his 17 years playing the character: “There were a couple of things I couldn’t work out how to do. Fans always say, ‘When are we gonna see you in the blue and yellow spandex? We’ve gotta see that shot!’ We tried a little bit in The Wolverine, it didn’t happen—on that plane at the end he opens up a box and there’s the suit, I think that ended up getting cut. So the suit was one thing but we just couldn’t work out how to do it, so if anyone can work that out you go for it. The other idea that I always loved was the idea in the comics that every year on Logan’s birthday, his brother comes and beats the crap out of him. I just thought that was such a cool very fun idea and very in keeping to those characters. His birthday present was just a beating and that’s the only time he sees him (laughs). I kept saying, ‘Jim can we put that in?’ and he goes ‘Eh this is not that movie.’ But anyway…”

But…let me just tell you that the second installment will be even more weaselicious… Let me just put it that way, to quote Pauly Shore. I’m very excited about it. I’m so excited. I know it means so much to Ryan that it’s good, and for the writers, and for all of us actually. The first one did so well, people loved it so much. I think they really put the time in on the script. I’m just so excited…”

…X-Men producer Hutch Parker has been chatting about X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and how it will differ from the studio’s first attempt at The Dark Phoenix Saga in X-Men: The Last Stand: “I can’t really speak to anything specifically but I think the challenge as offered by all the films we’ve mentioned is very – we’re very aware of the challenge that those movies pose and what it sort of demands of us as storytellers mining, again, one of the great comic runs in The Dark Phoenix Saga. Our hope and expectation is to try and do something that feels different, that takes the audience into a different tone and a different sense of cinematic style that is appropriately suited to the story we’re telling. So I’m trying to answer your question without giving anything away.” And, asked about the rumours that the film will see the X-Men travelling into space, he responded: “That is certainly a possibility. That is certainly a possibility. Yes…”

It would’ve made for a really good movie, I think. David Harbour is a good dude. I wish him nothing but the best when it comes to the retooling of Hellboy.”
