…Turning to the DC Extended Universe now and although Warner Bros. chose not to show a Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice TV spot at the Super Bowl, we did get two Turkish Airlines promos entitled ‘Fly to Gotham City’ and ‘Fly to Metropolis’. But, any disappointment was soon wiped away as the studio released the rather fantastic final trailer for the DC superhero ensemble, which arrived online alongside a new IMAX poster. You can revisit the trailer here, and be sure to take a look at the thoughts of our writing team in the latest Flickering Myth Reaction here. …In an interview this week, Jesse Eisenberg spoke about portraying “a more modern, psychologically realistic” Lex Luthor: “The character is in line with what audiences want to see now, which is a more modern, psychologically realistic concept of Lex Luthor,” states Eisenberg. “His motivations are multifaceted; he has a way of using language that’s specific to the way his mind works; he struggles with interesting philosophical dilemmas like that of the individual having too much power, even if that individual is using that power for good. For instance, Superman has so far been using his powers to do some good, but is it safe to have someone like that walking the streets? It’s great that all of this happens in the context of a very exciting superhero movie.” You can read the rest of Eisenberg’s comments, including his thoughts on working with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, here…

But it will have a brand-new twist upon that character; the way we’re going to bring that character into being on our show will be different than anything we’ve seen in the comics. It will be identifiable as Azrael in all respects, just a version of him we’ve not seen before, which is the point of doing these! How can we do the character with a fresh twist..?”
