…During an interview at Toronto to promote his new film The Magnificent Seven, Chris Pratt offered some praise for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, stating that: “I’m already so proud of it. We worked really hard on it and it’s a joy to be part of. It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.” Meanwhile, director James Gunn also discussed the relationship between Zoe Saldana’s Gamora and Karen Gillan’s Nebula: “I really feel like we give the female characters a chance to shine in this movie. Because Zoe Saldana comes in and she is so wonderfully beautiful as her character. It’s touching. And Karen Gillan as Nebula comes in, and she’s her sister, and she’s completely a much deeper character than we got in the first movie, so we get to know her. And that’s one of the things that this movie is about… The first movie was really about becoming a family. This movie is about being a family. And what’s harder, becoming a family or being a family? I think it’s being a family. That’s where you really have to deal with each other. And that’s what this movie is about. And their sisters. They are family, whether they like it or not. And they also want to kill each other, so it adds a new twist to being a sister…”

I love Ant-Man. But for me, most of the time the darker superhero movies are the ones that I gravitate towards, that I love the most. So I’m glad that I’m not in an Ant-Man. I’m glad that the tone of [Black Panther] may be a little grittier. I just wanted to establish that from the beginning, that that’s what we were doing. That that’s what I intend to do. I feel like we’ll end up in a place that I’ve always wanted to be when I look at superhero movies. Those are the ones I like the most. It’s exciting to do that.” Boseman also discussed Black Panther’s character progression from Captain America: Civil War, and you can read the rest of his comments here…
