UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October 2014…
Four newcomers cracked the UK box office top ten this past weekend, but none of them were strong enough to topple David Fincher’s Gone Girl, which made it two weeks at the top with £3.06 million, pushing its total haul just shy of the £10 million mark.
The biggest challenge came from YA adaptation The Maze Runner, which took second with £2,041,229, followed by The Conjuring spin-off Annabelle in third with £1,939,963 and concert film One Direction: Where We Are in fourth with £1,021,527. Further on down the chart, Hugh Grant comedy The Rewrite earned just £324,889 in its opening weekend to finish up in ninth.
