We all know Tom Holland has a penchant for letting things slip, and so when he was talking about how he’d like to be involved in an adaptation of popular videogame Jak and Daxter, only one produced by A24, we just took it for filler as he promoted the imminent release of Uncharted. However, that films director Ruben Fleischer has now revealed that he is working on another PlayStation IP in the form of the iconic duo.
During an interview with Digital Trends Fleischer said “I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life”.
Jak and Daxter was created by Naughty Dog, who were also behind Uncharted, as well as the peerless The Last of Us franchise, which will soon be heading to HBO. A hugely popular title on the PlayStation 2, Jak and Daxter is an action-platform game which features Jak, an elfish hero, and his half-weasel, half-otter companion Daxter.
The interview also reveals that Fleischer was also working on an adaptation of the Spy Hunter franchise, which never came to fruition, and we’re yet to see how Uncharted will fare at the box-office, so take this with a pinch of salt.
