Update 12.2 has been announced for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and will bring with it a brand-new map, a new Survivor Pass and a new vehicle courtesy of Hyundai. The update is set to arrive on PC on 7th July and on 15th July for consoles. A new trailer (see below) released today takes viewers on a private tour of the new map.
Update 12.2’s new map is called Taego. This 8×8 map is set in 1980’s South Korea and will feature a vast and varied landscapes that contains wide-open reed fields and Hosan Prison. Taego also has a couple of exclusive features, Comeback BR (a second chance mechanic) and Self AED (a self-revive item).

“PUBG Studios has introduced unique maps of diverse sizes, and we are happy to finally unveil a Korean-themed map – TAEGO,” said Taehyun Kim, PUBG World Development PD at KRAFTON. “We hope new and existing PUBG players will enjoy the new gameplay experiences, features and elements found in the new map.”
The new Survivor Pass: TAEGO is heavily inspired by the new map and will give players the chance to earn a variety of rewards as they progress through 50 levels. There are also a range of bonus rewards to earn, including medals, emblems and G-Coins.
The Taego map also exclusively features Hyundai’s first company concept car, the 1974 Pony Coupe. This vehicle will feature a 4-wheel drive design for enhanced control across the varied terrain of the map.
