It was only a matter of time after the success of Let There Be Carnage at the box office, and Sony has now taken the opportunity at CinemaCon to officially announce that Venom 3 is in the works and will continue the adventures of Eddie Brock and his symbiote Venom.
Sony producer Amy Pascal had originally said they were in “the planning stages” of a third Venom film a few weeks after the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The sequel broke box office records by becoming the second-highest grossing film of 2021 in the US after it’s Marvel-adjacent film Spider-Man: No Way Home. Let There Be Carnage earned a worldwide total of $502 million.
Sony didn’t give any teases as to what Venom 3 will have in store for audiences, but Tom Hardy is of course returning as Eddie Brock/Venom for the follow-up.
