EJ Moreno reviews A Quiet Place: Day One…
Upping the ante and going bigger for your sequel/prequel is a risky move. Many franchises have flourished or floundered when they attempt it, but A Quiet Place: Day One soars with a bolder style.
Led by the fantastic Lupita Nyong’o, Michael Sarnoski adds a sensibility to the films that haven’t been there before, which critic EJ Moreno feels elevates everything and brings the movie into the status of “The Best A Quiet Place Film Yet.”

Director Michael Sarnoski helms the blockbuster prequel A Quiet Place: Day One. Based on a story by A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II director John Krasinski, the film stars Lupita Nyong’o (Us), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), and Djimon Hounsou (Rebel Moon).
The story follows a woman named Sam during the early stages of an invasion in New York City by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing.
Paramount Pictures will release A Quiet Place: Day One in the United States on June 28, 2024.
