Vin Diesel-headlined Bloodshot to begin production in July

April 15, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Having found their leading man last month in Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel, it seems that Sony Pictures and Valiant Entertainment are moving full steam ahead with their plans for Bloodshot.

The film, which is set to launch a shared Valiant cinematic universe, is being directed by visual effects supervisor Dave Wilson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) from a script by Eric Heisserer (Arrival).

According to Omega Underground, the plan is for cameras to start rolling in July, with a shoot that will last through to November. Filming will take place in Prague in the Czech Republic, which is where Diesel previously shot the first xXx movie.

Diesel also took to Instagram to share a piece of fan art from Bosslogic, imagining how he might look in the title role:

Bloodshot was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton and made his comic book debut in 1992. He is the alter-ego of Ray Garrison, a mortally wounded soldier who finds himself resurrected using nanotechnology and given the task of hunting down superpowered outcasts known as harbingers.

The plan for the Valiant universe at present is to follow Bloodshot with a Harbinger movie, with both then receiving sequels before coming together for Harbinger Wars.
