With Daredevil: Born Again looking for a new creative team, the actors attached to the project are opening up about what comes next.
The ever-outspoken Vincent D’Onofrio has spoken in great detail about the production, including what it was like in the early days of the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes, and he held nothing back when it came to the future.
On social media, one fan tried throwing shade at the Daredevil actor for a past tweet, saying a tweet praising the creative team had “aged poorly”, with D’Onofrio retorting, “We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of.”
“Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre-production, production, and post,” he continued. “It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s simple a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly, I’d be worried if we were settling for less.”
For those who don’t recall, we reported yesterday that Marvel released head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman from Daredevil: Born Again, citing a complete overhaul of the series along with Marvel Studios’ approach to TV series development and production. With fewer than half of the series’ 18 episodes being shot, Marvel also let go of the directors.
D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox reprise their roles in the series, which was slated for 2024 but currently has no release date in sight.
