Can we resurrect Vision, the fallen Avenger last seen in WandaVision? Marvel will look to do so in a new series coming in 2026.
Variety confirmed the long-standing rumors for this Vision series, once called VisionQuest, with news that Paul Bettany will return to the role.
Marvel Television has attached Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas to the project, where he’ll serve as showrunner for the still-untitled Vision series.
Matalas is best known for his work running Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard, where he earned a WGA award nomination for the 2023 series finale. Matalas was also the creator and showrunner for the Syfy series 12 Monkeys, which ran for three seasons.
This marks the first new live-action series Marvel has picked up in almost two years, as we’ve seen Bob Iger slow down the output from Kevin Feige’s superhero brand.
The last time we saw Paul Bettany’s Vision, he was being killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and then returned for the hit Disney+ series WandaVision. Another version of Vision was created in the series with a white appearance and zero memory of his past life. His fate was left up in the air.
With the MCU’s Wanda said to have been killed off in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we shall see how Vision looks to rebuild his life. Stay tuned to Flickering Myth for more on the Vision series and any news concerning the MCU…
