The ratings slide for The Walking Dead continued with this past Sunday’s season eight fall finale suffering the lowest ratings of any midseason finale in the show’s run.
The 90-minute episode ‘How Its Gotta Be’, pulled in a 3.36 rating in the key 18-49 demo, 4% down on the season two fall finale ‘Pretty Much Dead Already’, which aired back in November 2011. Viewership was up in terms of actual audience numbers however, with 7.9 million viewers overall compared to the season two midseason finale of 6.62 million.
Year-on-year, the season eight fall finale was down a whopping 34% from last year’s ‘Swear’, and was also the second-lowest rated episode of the season so far in terms of the key demo.
