The fourth instalment in the Thor franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder, has officially begun production and it seems like one character from the series won’t be returning for the latest film.
In an interview with IGN, Kat Dennings, who has played Darcy Lewis in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World, has all but confirmed that she won’t be appearing alongside Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as she hasn’t been contacted for the project.
“Well, I have not gotten a call so I kind of doubt it since they’re shooting it right now so probably not, but anything Marvel ever asks of me the answer’s always yes,” Dennings said.
While Dennings may not be returning for Thor: Love and Thunder, she has made her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Darcy Lewis in the recently released WandaVision Disney+ series.
Although plot details for Thor: Love and Thunder are currently being kept under wraps, Natalie Portman seemingly confirmed that the sequel will incorporate Jane Foster’s cancer storyline from the comic books. Director James Gunn has also stated that he as been working as a consultant on the film with the story implementing almost all of the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
