Owlcat Games have announced details on their latest update for their turn-based cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. This latest update (patch 1.2) is the biggest update so far and contains an incredible amount of changes. Owlcat has also revealed a new trailer (see below) introducing the Death Cult in the upcoming DLC, Void Shadows.
Patch 1.2 brings more than 2500 visible and internal changes to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, including:
- Changes to game balance, such as a rebalance of out-of-sequence turns, buffs to Sanctioned Psykers and Pyromancy, late game scaling and more.
- Co-op play – Gamers can play together from the start with up to two additional custom mercenary characters are now available in the Prologue.
- Custom portrait transfer, save file size reduction, desync fixes.
- Quality of Life improvements include improved inventory sorting, tooltips, level up screen and quest markers on star systems.
- Updated pathing of NPCs, improved NPC appearance, cover placement and more.
- New dialogue for secret companions, fixes for epilogue slides and fixes on existing dialogue.
- Rumor zones are now highlighted on the map.
- Improved and additional animations in cutscenes.
- A variety of new visual effects for abilities, including auras, creatures and more.
- New item icons.
- Improvements across all languages.
- A huge amount of bug fixes.
The Void Shadows DLC is coming soon and will introduce the Death Cult. This cult worships the Emperor through the art of death and killing and one of their outstanding assassins, Kibellah, is going to be joining the Lord Captain on their mission. Kibellah is a powerful and successful assassin and her loyalty to the cause and the Emperor is beyond question. She will prove a very capable companion when facing the xeno threat emerging from the bowels of the voidship.
