Warner Bros. is close to securing its director for Flashpoint according to reports.
With Justice League so close on the horizon, attention will quickly turn to what’s next for the DCEU, with a lot of that likely being down to the success of the aforementioned team up movie.
WB, are of course already on the case, and have highlighted Ezra Miller’s Flash as the movie’s breakout star, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The character’s own solo movie has long been in the works, and has seen a number of directors attached already. But author of the WSJ piece, Ben Frtiz, has tweeted out that WB are close to finalising the movie’s new director:
“Detail not in story: WB’s Toby Emmerich said ‘close to hiring a director’ on Flashpoint, hopes to greenlight soon.”

Earlier reports had stated that the film’s future was on hold, pending the success of Justice League, but this news certainly seems to suggest things are looking a lot more promising for Flashpoint.
And the future star of Flashpoint Ezra Miller, has told Comicbook.com that he would like to see actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan take on the role of Batman (as Thomas Wayne) in the film’s version of events.
When asked about casting Morgan in the film, who portrayed Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Miller responded:
“Oh, hell yeah. I think he’s amazing,” said Miller. “And I think he would fall right into what is becoming a very, very serious ensemble of actors. I’m so excited about Kiersey Clemons. I’m so excited about Billy Crudup. I just couldn’t be more stoked about the names involved so far.”
