This won’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as the movie is currently demolishing the competition across the globe with almost $200 million from its opening weekend ($93 million domestically and $103 million internationally), but Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced that a sequel to Godzilla is in development.

Described as an epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic monster, Godzilla is out now with a cast that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Ken Watanabe (Inception), David Strathairn (The Bourne Legacy), Juliette Binoche (The English Patient) and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine).
