Warner Bros. has announced that its movie Jungle Book : Origins will be pushed back by a year. Initially the film was set for an October 2016 release but will now come out the following year in October 2017.
This is not the only Jungle Book movie in development, with Disney making a live-action version which will be directed by Jon Favreau and is set for release on October 15th 2015. Given this delay, it would seem that Warner Bros. wants to leave a bit more time in between the two movies.
Jungle Book: Origins will now be released 7 October 2017. Andy Serkis will direct the film and also star as the bear Baloo, while other cast members include Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hollander, Eddie Marsan, Naomi Harris and Benedict Cumberbatch.
