Watch the exclusive new trailer for Chris Bouchard’s crime caper London’s Finest

August 4, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Director Chris Bouchard has released a new U.S. trailer for London’s Finest due out August 29th, 2017.

London’s Finest is a drug fueled British crime story following a dirty cop as he lays a trap for a small time street dealer. Realizing he’s in danger, the dealer struggles to sober up as he is hunted by armed mercenaries across London, all while trying to sell heroin to a gang of gun-toting Welsh Yardies.

Bouchard is known for popular The Lord of the Rings short film The Hunt For Gollum, and his role in directing the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid starring Shirley MacLaine. He also has a background in visual effects and has contributed to films including Gravity, The Dark Knight and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

London’s Finest (known in the U.K. as Hackney’s Finest) stars Arin Alldridge, Nathanael Wiseman, Enoch Frost and has an award nominated Soundtrack featuring Alabama3 (known for The Sopranos main title theme music), was executive produced by Framestore and written by Thorin Seex.

When discussing his work on the film, director Chris Bouchard says, “I’ve tended to work in the Sci-Fi and fantasy genre, and on visual effects driven stories, but have always loved crime thrillers and black comedy inspired by what Tarantino, Guy Ritchie have done, so London’s Finest was an opportunity for me to explore the crime/drugs genre through this script which has an off-the-wall sense of humour and brilliant dialog. It’s a true indie film, I cast fantastic unknown actors, and we shot guerrilla style on the streets at night and in abandoned buildings. The writer had really lived the drugs scene back in the 90s, and done a lot of research. Although it’s over-the-top, it’s almost spoof-like at times, the characters and the humour are, I believe, pretty unique because there’s an anchor in reality to bounce off. These Welsh Yardies who see the drug war as just a game, for them the machine-guns and loot are entertainment – and the hapless stoner Sirus who’s caught in the middle of that. It was fun to play with this inherent sense of the ridiculous, the gang-war that kicks off, with the characters off their heads on drugs whilst going into a shoot-out in a derelict warehouse. I’m excited to see it will be released soon in the U.S.”

You can pre-order the film on Amazon here.
