We have new movement on the live-action Minecraft film as Deadline reports Emma Myers (Wednesday) has joined the cast of the upcoming Warner Bros. adaptation.
Myers joins a cast that includes Jason Momoa (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black) and Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy).
The film is being directed by Napoleon Dynamite‘s Jared Hess with WB, Vertigo, Legendary, Mojang/Microsoft and Momoa’s On the Roam producing.
Minecraft launched in 2011 and has gone on to become the bestselling video game title of all time with an incredible 238 million sales across all platforms and still attracts some 140 million monthly active users.
Minecraft will begin filming at the end of the month in New Zealand with a an eye for a 2025 release date.
