Westworld returns to HBO tonight for its season two premiere, with the cable network having made us wait almost seventeen months since our last visit to the immersive theme park.
Well, it seems we may face a similar if not longer wait for season three, with co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan telling Entertainment Weekly that he and Lisa Joy are envisioning a 2020 premiere for the third season to allow them greater development and production time between seasons.
“It’s an ongoing conversation with our friends at HBO, and for us, with a show of this scope and scale, we’re not interested in doing the compromised version. We want the show to get bigger and bigger and more ambitious and this takes time. We want to take all the time we need to get it right.”
