As the Ted Bundy pic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman) as the serial killer, begins production, the film has cast one of Westworld‘s supporting hosts: Angela Sarafyan, who plays Clementine in the HBO series.
According to Deadline, she will portray Joanna, a close friend and confidant to Lily Collins’ Elizabeth, Bundy’s longtime girlfriend. Joanna “acts as a support system for Elizabeth and is the reason she starts to finally question Bundy’s intentions.”
Also joining the film is John Malkovich (RED) as Edward Cowart, the judge who presided over the serial killer’s 1979 trial that resulted in a death sentence carried out a decade later.

Extremely Wicked is being directed by Joe Berlinger (Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) from Michael Werwie’s Nicholl Fellowship-winning script. It will tell its story from the perspective of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, during the period that Bundy hid his murder spree from his live-in lover. Following his arrest, Bundy would confess to 30 murders across seven states and was executed for his crimes in 1989.
