Sixteen years after the last outing in Bad Boys II, Will Smith has taken to Instagram to officially announce the start of production on Bad Boys for Life, sharing an image of a stack of screenplays for the movie which also confirm the rumours that the title is being stylised ‘Bad Boys for Lif3‘.

Bad Boys for Life is being directed by Adi El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Gangsta) and features the return of Will Smith (Mike Lowrey), Martin Lawrence (Marcus Burnett) and Joe Pantoliano (Captain Howard) alongside franchise newcomers Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch), Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Charles Melton (Riverdale), Jacob Scipio (Hunter Killer) and Paola Nunez (The Son).
The film reportedly “centers on the Miami PD and its elite AMMO team’s attempt to take down Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio), head of a drug cartel. Armando is a cold-blooded killer with a vicious, taunting nature. He is committed to the work of the cartel and is dispatched by his mother to kill Mike (Will Smith).”
Bad Boys for Life is set for release on January 17th 2020.
