Will Smith’s sci-fi action thriller Gemini Man has released its first trailer. The film sees Smith facing his toughest challenge yet as an aging assassin who has to fight a clone of his younger, faster and deadlier self. Watch the trailer below…
Gemini Man follows Will Smith in dual roles as Henry Brogan, an aging assassin who is trying to retire but is marked for death and faced with the ultimate opponent: a clone of himself, only 25 years younger and at the peak of his abilities who can predict every move Henry makes.
“The emotional and physical challenges of making this film have been the most demanding of my career,” states Smith. “Ang is pushing the limits to give people an experience in the movie theater that you can’t get anywhere else. This is not only an action film, but an exploration of what one’s younger self can ultimately teach one’s older self. I’m 50-years-old now, and the irony of becoming 23-year-old Junior in this film is that 23-year-old me wouldn’t have been ready for this experience or to take on this role. Our hope is that this story provides something for everyone — never before seen cinematic wizardry, nuanced, relatable characters and next-level action.”
The film stars Smith alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds of Prey), Clive Owen (Children of Men) and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange). Gemini Man is directed by Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
Gemini Man will be released October 11th.
