Actor William Fichtner has had a long career in film that has seen him play a variety of supporting roles, from Heat to Armageddon to last year’s Independence Day: Resurgence. Now, according to Deadline, he will be making his directorial debut as he goes behind the camera for the drama Cold Brook.
“[Cold Brook is] the story of two ordinary guys in a small town who embark on an extraordinary adventure,” Fichtner said. “It’s a story about coming home; something everyone, everywhere has an innate desire to do.”
Fichtner will also star in the film and has written the script with script with Cain DeVore. Starring alongside Fichtner will be Sons of Anarchy’s Kim Coates and Lost’s Harold Perrineau.
“When my writing partner Cain DeVore and I began to work on Cold Brook, and the story evolved over the years, the one thing that never changed was that we were writing it for me and Kim Coates,” Fichtner said. “I met Coates in 2001 shooting Black Hawk Down in Morocco, and we’ve been great friends ever since.”
Cold Brook will shoot in Buffalo this summer. Fichtner will also produce with Coates, Sara Shaak and Shayne Putzlocher.
