While the first trailer isn’t set to arrive until Brazil’s CCXP convention next month, Warner Bros. recently unveiled some footage from next year’s DC sequel Wonder Woman 1984 as part of its big HBO Max presentation. And, thanks to IGN, we’ve got a detailed description of what was shown, which included a scene Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince and Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor shown in Washington, D.C., as well as another of Diana fighting unknown enemies in the White House whilst dressed in her new gold armour.
Much of the footage appears to be set in Washington DC. We see a shot of Diana and Steve Trevor walking in front of the Washington Monument. Diana is wearing a white, Greek goddess-inspired dress and reaches out to caress Steve’s cheek. Her voice-over narration mourns, “I can almost see it, like a beautiful dream.”
A second scene lends more credence to the idea that Steve Trevor is alive and well and not just a figment of Diana’s imagination. We see Wonder Woman battling enemies inside the White House while wearing her new armor. She protects Steve from gunfire, grabs a gun and unloads it in slow-motion and pulls foes closer with her lasso. Another cryptic shot shows her whipping her lasso around to possibly deflect or redirect a bolt of lightning.

The site goes on to speculate that Diana could be fighting Zeus, who – as explained in the first movie – is her biological father, and the creator of the Amazons and the Island of Themyscira. The character was also briefly seen in flashback form in Justice League as part of the battle against Steppenwolf and the forces of Apokolips.
Wonder Woman 1984 reunites director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord, Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon), Ravi Patel (Master of None, Grandfathered) and Gabriella Wilde (Doctor Who, Poldark) in an as-yet-unrevealed roles.
