Although the estimates for the film were quite low and the tracking is even lower, Warner Bros. and DC seem very committed to a Wonder Woman franchise, with DCEU stalwart Zack Snyder confirming that a sequel is in active development. He also noted that Joss Whedon’s Batgirl will come first though. Read more here.
Speaking of Batgirl, and Whedon’s adaptation won’t be the first of the character on the big screen. Back in the summer of 1997, Alicia Silverstone played Barbra Gordon in the comic book bomb Batman & Robin, and wasn’t exactly praised for her performance. In a new interview however, the Clueless star has said she would do much better if given a second chance. “It would be fun to tackle it again,” she said. “Because I’m older and my acting is better. I know I would bring so much more to it. I was just a baby [on Batman & Robin]. It was a different thing. But I had fun back then. And I think it would be fun to do it again.” Read more here.
Yesterday we brought you the news that Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn and Sam Raimi had meetings with Warner Bros. to helm their struggling Flash solo movie, but it was revealed a few hours later that Raimi has already dropped out, as has The Amazing Spider-Man‘s Marc Webb. Former member of Hitflix Drew McWeeny also wrote on Twitter that his sources have also denied the story. Read more here.
One of the real shining lights of Logan (and there were many) was Dafne Keen’s Laura/X-23, and director James Mangold has said we could see more of her in the future. “Anything’s possible,” Mangold said at a screening of Logan Noir. “I’ve certainly talked to them about it. I even talked to them about it before we made the movie. I thought she was just such a great character, but with what Dafne did, I think that certainly that’s possible.” Read more here.

Fans of Ready Player One were surprised to hear that comedic actor T.J. Miller had been cast in the film adaptation as I-Rok as the character is only in one scene. However Miller has said that the role has changed from the source material to be a more Boba Fett-like character. “In the OASIS, I am a better player than Aech or Daito or any of those guys. I am sort of unequivocally the best bounty hunter, but I work freelance,” he said. “While all the Sixers work for IOI and Sorrento [Ben Mendelsohn], he has to commission me and I get an incredibly high fee to either find people and kill them or make them starve in the game.” Read more here.
