While the DC Extended Universe may have got off to a bit of a slow start in terms of critical acclaim, there’s no disputing that the first four films in Warner Bros.’ superhero franchise haven’t been a hit at the box office, with the latest instalment Wonder Woman helping to propel the series to $3 billion worldwide.
Here’s how the box office totals stack up so far:
Man of Steel – $668.0 million
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – $873.3 million
Suicide Squad – $745.6 million
Wonder Woman – $713.9 million
That’s a combined $3.0008 billion in box office takings, and a per-film average of $750.2 million. And given the plaudits that Wonder Woman has received, Warner Bros. will surely be hoping that Justice League helps to push up that average when the next DC blockbuster opens in cinemas this November.
