Woody Harrelson takes to the court in the same fashion that has served both Ben Affleck (The Way Back) and Adam Sander (Hustle) well over the past few years, and that’s as a basketball coach burdened by baggage looking to take a team of underdogs to the top.
Harrelson has previous when it comes to comedy on the court, having starred in 1992 sports classic White Men Can’t Jump, and here he reunites with director Bobby Farrelly, who co-directed the Academy Award nominee in 1996 bowling comedy Kingpin.
Also starring Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) and Kaitlin Olsen (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), you can check out the trailer for Champions here…
Their best shot is his last shot. Woody Harrelson stars in the hilarious and heartwarming story of a former minor-league basketball coach who, after a series of missteps, is ordered by the court to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. He soon realizes that despite his doubts, together, this team can go further than they ever imagined.
Champions is only in cinemas from March 24th.
